A gold jewellery bill should show net weight, purity, the rate per gram, making charges, other charges and 3% GST. Check three things: the rate should be close to today's rate for that karat, making charges should match what you agreed (as a % of gold value), and GST should be exactly 3% of everything before tax. Enter the bill figures and the checker flags any gap.
| Line on the bill | What to check |
|---|---|
| Net weight and purity | Matches the tag and the hallmark (e.g. 22K916) |
| HUID | 6-character code, verifiable in the BIS Care app |
| Rate per gram | Close to today's rate for that karat |
| Making charges | The % or ₹ per gram you agreed |
| GST | Exactly 3% of everything before tax |
| Total | Adds up line by line |
This checker uses your inputs only. Rates differ slightly between cities and jewellers.
