Quick answer

Kids' clothes are sized by age, but height is the more reliable guide because children of the same age grow at different rates. Measure your child's height without shoes and pick the first size whose height range covers it. A child who is 110 cm tall wears size 4–5 years (EU 110).

How to measure

  1. Stand your child against a wall without shoes, heels together.
  2. Place a book flat on their head and mark the wall where it touches.
  3. Measure from the floor to the mark. If they are near the top of a range, size up to allow for growth.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy kids clothes by age or height?
Use height. Age labels assume an average child, while height matches how the clothes are actually cut. EU sizes (92, 104, 116...) are the child's height in cm.
What size is 4–5 years?
Size 4–5 years fits children about 104–110 cm tall and equals EU size 110.
Should I size up for kids?
If your child is within 2–3 cm of the top of a size range, buy the next size so the clothes last longer.
