GST on gold jewellery is 3% of the full bill: gold value plus making charges plus stones and other charges. It is split as 1.5% CGST and 1.5% SGST, or 3% IGST when bought from another state. On ₹1,00,000 of gold with ₹12,000 making, GST is ₹3,360. Gold coins and bars also carry 3%. Making charges paid separately to a karigar for job work carry 5%.
