Quick answer

Original price = sale price ÷ (1 − discount %). If something costs ₹1,499 after 40% off, the original price was ₹1,499 ÷ 0.6 = ₹2,498. To find the discount from two prices: (original − sale) ÷ original × 100.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the price you see after the discount.
  2. Enter the discount percentage, or enter the MRP to find the real discount.
  3. Compare with prices on other sites.

Formula

Original price = Sale price ÷ (1 − Discount %)

Discount % = (MRP − Sale price) ÷ MRP × 100

Results are estimates to help you plan. Confirm the final price, tax and offer terms at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the original price from a discount?
Divide the sale price by (1 − discount as a decimal). ₹800 after 20% off: ₹800 ÷ 0.8 = ₹1,000.
Are huge MRP discounts genuine?
Not always. Some sellers inflate MRP to show a bigger discount. Compare the selling price across sites rather than trusting the % off.
