Quick answer

Trip fuel cost = distance ÷ mileage × fuel price. A 500 km one-way trip in a car that gives 15 km per litre uses 33.3 litres, which costs ₹3,333 at ₹100 a litre. Add ₹600 of tolls and the trip costs ₹3,933, or ₹983 each for four people. Highway mileage is usually 10–20% better than city mileage.

How to use this calculator

  1. Get the distance from Google Maps.
  2. Use your car's real highway mileage, not the claimed figure.
  3. Enter today's fuel price in your city and the tolls shown on the route.

Formula

Fuel used (litres) = distance ÷ mileage

Fuel cost = litres × price per litre

Trip cost = fuel cost + tolls; per person = trip cost ÷ people

Fuel prices change daily, and real mileage depends on traffic, AC use and load.
